A world of experience
Awarded a scholarship in 1983 to
study at the Guildhall School of
Music and Drama with Martin Gatt
and Graham Sheen, principal with
the B.B.C. Symphony Orchestra.
Born in Bury, Lancashire in 1965....
Began bassoon studies with Charles
Cracknell, principal with the Halle
Orchestra first privately and then as
a student at the Junior Department,
Royal Northern College of Music.
Continued studies with David
Chatwin, principal with the B.B.C.
Philharmonic Orchestra as a pupil
at Chetham`s School of Music, and
also recieved monthly consultation
lessons with Martin Gatt, principal
with the L.S.O.

Member of the European Youth
Orchestra 1984/5
Also in 1983 awarded the National
Youth Orchestra`s prestigious
Lloyd`s Bank Prize jointly with
violinist Anthony Marwood.
